Zscaler Showcases Zero Trust Security Integration with IGEL at Now & Next 2025

This article was published originally at VMblog.

In this VMblog interview, ahead of the IGEL Now & Next 2025 event, Dan Gould, Director, Product Marketing at Zscaler discusses how its Zero Trust security platform integrates with IGEL OS to deliver a seamless “connect and protect” architecture for modern workforces. As organizations increasingly prioritize secure access to cloud applications from any device, this partnership offers a compelling alternative to traditional VDI solutions while maintaining robust security.

VMblog:  Tell us a little bit about your company.

Dan Gould:  Zscaler is the leader in cloud security, accelerating digital transformation so organizations can be more agile, efficient, resilient, and secure. The Zscaler Zero Trust ExchangeTM platform protects thousands of customers from cyberattacks and data loss by securely connecting users, devices, and applications in any location.

VMblog:  Talk about your technology. What problems do you solve? And how are you considered unique?

Gould:  Zscaler specializes in Zero Trust security, enabling enterprises to securely connect users to applications and systems while delivering full data protection. Zscaler platform can also extend secure agentless access to web applications from any device, be it an IGEL device or even unmanaged.

Our Zero Trust architecture, that delivers Zero Trust everywhere, is what makes it unique. With Zero Trust organizations can hide IPs to reduce attack surfaces, gain full TLS inspection to stop threats, reduce risk of internal lateral movement, while preventing data loss to exfiltration.

VMblog:  How do you partner with IGEL? What does that partnership look like? How long have you been a partner?

Gould:  The integration with IGEL provides a cost-optimized “connect and protect” architecture for modern workforces.  Zscaler and IGEL provide a seamless solution for securely connecting enterprise users to cloud applications from hardened endpoints with no new software or browsers required. This partnership supports a modern EUC architecture-offering alternatives to traditional VDI while ensuring Zero Trust security.

VMblog:  What do you plan to show off at your booth at Now & Next 2025?

Gould:  Zscaler will demonstrate the benefits of our Zero Trust security architecture on IGEL OS. This will highlight the collaborative “connect and protect” model, mentioned above, that keeps security and productivity high, while costs low.

VMblog:  What do you like about Now & Next? What made you sign up as a sponsor?

Gould:  IGEL and Zscaler both see mobility and cloud as disruptive technologies that when brought together can help organizations pivot to secure, seamless productivity tying end-user devices to cloud applications – both critical drivers of enterprise productivity.

VMblog:  What do you hope to take away from Now & Next?

Gould:  We look forward to deepening our relationships within the EUC ecosystem, and showcasing the benefits of our partnership with IGEL to organizations who are looking to update their approaches to application access and secure endpoints.

VMblog:  What do you attribute to the growing success of End User Computing?

Gould:  Given the demand for secure, and efficient ways to work, the endpoint and EUC has taken on a more important role than ever in employee productivity. The endpoint is central to secure and scalable productivity from anywhere, which explains why EUC overall is growing.

VMblog:  How do you and your solution help with the growth of the EUC market? Where does your technology fit?

Gould:  Zscaler bolsters the EUC market by securely connecting the endpoint to the cloud. We do this by integrating our Our Zero Trust security and application access with IGEL’s endpoint solutions.

VMblog:  Where do you see the EUC market headed?

Gould:  The EUC market is likely evolving towards more agile, simple solutions wherever possible.  This means less architecture and even endpoint software where possible.  With partnerships like IGEL and Zscaler, the industry is moving away from traditional VDI challenges to more streamlined, secure, and user-friendly options.
