Power of partnership: IGEL and Zscaler to optimize Enterprise Security and Productivity

At IGEL, we pride ourselves in our strong technology partnerships with leading end user computing (EUC) firms to provide the most secure and productive digital experiences (DEX) for our joint customers. One such key partnership is our new alliance with IGEL Ready partner, Zscaler, provider of the Zscaler Zero Trust Exchange™ platform that protects thousands of customers from cyberattacks and data loss by securely connecting users, devices, and applications in any location. With so many people now working from home or other distributed locations, the compatibility of the IGEL OS Preventative Security Model (PSM) with Zscaler is essential. The IGEL OS is read-only, with no data stored on the endpoint, modular design, and a trusted application platform, among other features. When combined with Zscaler’s Cloud Browser Isolation and Privileged Remote Access, it provides our customers with a secure, cost-effective agentless solution for remote and hybrid work. The benefits are even more pronounced for organizations with a widely distributed workforce or contract and temporary workers.

Recent years have seen strong growth in temporary and contract workers collaborating with full-time employees across multiple remote locations. This mix of widely distributed workers with varying roles can create extreme challenges for IT teams tasked with protecting the organization’s intellectual property while also safeguarding against ransomware attacks and other forms of malware. With the combined Zscaler/IGEL solution, organizations can empower their employees and contractors, regardless of their location, with a modern zero-trust framework that enables seamless access to applications and systems with strong cybersecurity. Zscaler is a leader in the secure access service edge (SASE) and security service edge (SSE) space and IGEL brings Zero Trust principles to end user devices.      Both companies combining forces bodes extremely well for organizations who need to do all they can to help ensure end-user security.

The combined solution is not just secure, it also helps simplify and streamline the EUC environment while lowering costs. Specifically, Zscaler’s browser isolation and privileged remote access, combined with secure, efficient, and lean IGEL OS, enables efficient access to software-as-a-service (SaaS) and private cloud-based applications as well as remote desktops, servers and devices. End-users can use their browser of choice on their endpoint device of choice, increasing flexibility in how to best access their digital workspaces while bypassing the need for expensive and vulnerable general-purpose local operating systems, VDI, or third-party browsers..

Benefits of this new partnership are many, including stronger end-to-end security, cost savings from greater efficiencies, greater full-time and guest/temp worker productivity, greater freedom of choice for endpoint devices, and greater flexibility to react to constantly changing work environments and cybersecurity threat landscapes.

Enterprises must adopt innovative approaches to end-user computing to face today’s dynamic challenges of cloud computing head-on, maintain a competitive edge, and provide end-users with a safe and productive work environment. By revisiting traditional computing methods and embracing a future that includes IGEL and Zscaler, they can succeed in a landscape that increasingly values security and agility.
