IGEL ‘Highly Commended’ at the UK IT Industry Awards 2021
With the great and the good of UK tech firms attending a glitzy ceremony in London last week, IGEL walked away with ‘Highly Commended’ in the Vendor of the Year category at this year’s UK Industry Awards.
Organized annually by Computing magazine in conjunction with BCS – The Chartered Institute of IT – around 1,000 people where present at what is – by the far – the biggest, most prestigious and frankly best of the awards schemes in the country. Think of it as the Oscars of IT.
IGEL was up against eight other firms having drafted a thorough 2,500 word submission and attended a judging day where it had to present its entry face to face in front of a panel of judges – made up of other senior IT professionals in the industry.
Simon Townsend, IGEL’s chief marketing officer, says, “The UK IT Industry Awards is not one of those ‘pay to play’ awards schemes where you buy a table and win a prize. The application process is detailed so winning ‘Highly Commended’ is a huge honour with judges recognizing the tremendous success we have achieved since 2019 when we finished decoupling our feature-rich edge OS from our hardware. This has propelled the business forward, opened up commercial opportunities and fuelled our financial success where – last year – we exceeded €100 million in revenue. It means that IGEL is now at the vanguard of the cloud workspaces and DaaS revolution as organisations deploy digital workspaces of the future.”
