“Our large healthcare organization had acquired 500 HP endpoints, and needed to quickly convert the desktops to thin clients so that users could easily connect to their virtual desktops running on VMware Horizon. Knowing that we only had a week to complete the conversion made IGEL OS the logical choice due to its simplicity, ease of use and ability to save us both CAPEX and OPEX by allowing us to repurpose and get more life out of our existing HP hardware. Using 20 IGEL Conversion USB devices, our team converted all of the endpoints, across three medical facilities, for a fraction of the cost of replacing the hardware. With IGEL OS Converter for Windows USB devices, they were also able to convert machines in around 10 minutes, when previously it would have taken 45 minutes to an hour to re-image each virtualized endpoint. Due to our success with IGEL and HP, we are very excited to see them expanding their collaboration further, especially in light of HP’s recent acquisition of Teradici, which is sure to drive continued innovation in the delivery of cloud workspaces.” ~ Bill Wolff, Infrastructure Engineer
