IGEL and Nutanix – Collaborating to Secure End-User Computing

IGEL is excited to welcome IT professionals, industry experts, and End-User Computing (EUC) enthusiasts to The Fontainebleau in Miami Beach later this month for IGEL Now & Next 2025. Taking place March 24–27, 2025, this event is the premier gathering for discussions on EUC, endpoint security, and digital workspaces.

This four-day event will highlight innovative strategies, solutions, and insights from IGEL and its partners. Among them is Nutanix, which will showcase the integration between the Nutanix Cloud Platform and IGEL OS.

We sat down with Jim Luna, Global Head of Business Development – Cloud and Technology Alliances at Nutanix, to learn more about the relationship between IGEL and Nutanix and what attendees can expect to see and learn at IGEL Now & Next 2025.

Tell us about your company and how you partner with IGEL. How long have you been an IGEL Ready partner?

Jim Luna: Nutanix and IGEL are excellent partners in the end-user computing (EUC) ecosystem. Together, we offer choice and flexibility, eliminate uncertainty with our solutions and services, accelerate onboarding, and provide a seamless transition for end users. This approach helps maintain productivity and significantly simplifies the lives of IT administrators.

What are some things your organization is doing together with IGEL to shape the future of EUC?

Jim Luna: Nutanix and IGEL provide organizations with a comprehensive and secure virtual desktop environment that includes an infrastructure platform and endpoint devices. IGEL OS provides a transformative and secure operating system designed for enterprise use, seamlessly integrating with the Nutanix platform. This combination supports efficient and centralized management of endpoint devices in Software as a Service (SaaS), Desktop as a Service (DaaS), and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments.

How has being a part of the IGEL Ready program improved your business or enhanced customer experience?

Jim Luna: Nutanix’s participation in the IGEL Ready program has significantly enhanced the customer experience by providing seamless collaboration between Nutanix Cloud Platform and IGEL’s endpoint management solution. This ultimately increases customer satisfaction and potential business growth by creating new market opportunities for customers seeking a streamlined virtual desktop experience.

What are some key trends impacting your partners and customers in 2025, and how is your organization solving these?

Jim Luna: Nutanix and IGEL are aligned on several key trends, including the adoption of zero trust architectures and the use of AI and machine learning to respond to threats more quickly and effectively. This focus includes addressing concerns related to ransomware and data privacy. There is a pressing need to prioritize robust cloud security. With the increasing threat posed by sophisticated cyber threats like social engineering, managing the security of IoT devices is more important than ever. Additionally, the transition to Windows 11, which offers enhanced security features, underscores the necessity for improved threat protection, application control, endpoint management, and security awareness training. These measures are imperative for keeping data and virtual desktops safe and secure.

Jim Luna: Nutanix and IGEL are key players and leaders in the EUC space. Our technologies complement each other, allowing businesses to create efficient and secure VDI solutions. Nutanix provides the cloud computing power for a streamlined EUC experience.

Is this the first time you are sponsoring an IGEL event? If not, what keeps bringing your organization back to these events?

Jim Luna: We have sponsored IGEL events in the past and remain dedicated to partnering with IGEL to secure end-user computing. IGEL Now & Next has become the de facto event where top EUC solutions are showcased, attracting a high level of customer participation and satisfaction.
